POST PRODUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
PurpleDOG’s Post Production Project Manager is the vital connection between the company’s team, Film Producers, and Post-Production Supervisors, fostering smooth communication and ensuring client satisfaction. They are entrusted with the ultimate responsibility of taking a film from start to finish in the post-production process and completing the expected work on time while exceeding expectations.
Employment: Full-time, fixed-term one-year contract with an option for renewal.
Salary: Based on experience.
Location: On-site (not remote) at our post-production facility in Mississauga, Ontario.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- From start to finish, simultaneously manage the planning, scheduling, and post-production workflow of a number of projects.
- Represent the company as the primary point of contact for clients, clearly understanding project requirements, deadlines, and potential challenges while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Assign, manage, and oversee the work of PurpleDOG’s departmental resources for each project.
- Anticipate any issues or challenges that may arise during the post-production process by applying existing knowledge of post-production processes.
- Report all changes to the scope of work or issues requiring account management-level support.
- Effectively communicate with team members about objectives, track accountability for the quality of delivered work, provide timely updates, maintain project management software, and keep project calendars accurate and up-to-date.
IMPORTANT PREREQUISITES:
- 5+ years of applicable experience in a long-format motion picture project management role in a post-production company.
- Thorough understanding of the filmmaking process from dailies to delivery, as well as A++ knowledge of the overall post-production process, both creative and technical.
- Comprehensive expertise in each post-production department (Colour Correction, VFX, Online, Sound & Deliverables).
- Solid technical understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, resolutions, etc.
- Understanding of Digital Cinema technology.
- Familiarity with Video Quality Control and the ability to understand and discuss issues.
- Understanding of closed captioning formats and standards.
- Expert working knowledge of Windows & Mac OS, Google Workspace, and the ability to quickly dissect, evaluate, and adapt to new software.

- Leadership abilities, with experience supervising and mentoring team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

- The salary is negotiable, and we want to know your expectations.
- There is a 4-month trial period with a lower salary. This allows both sides to ensure the relationship is a good fit.
